Position Overview The Rough Install Technician works under the Rough Install Lead to install speakers, cameras, wireless access points, touchscreens, landscape audio, and retrofit wiring. This role calls for clean workmanship, accurate testing and labeling, and dependable communication on-site. Key Responsibilities Follow direction from the Rough Install Lead and complete assigned work per project plans, schedule, and company standards Install in-ceiling, in-wall, and exterior speakers and in-wall subwoofers, verifying placement, alignment, testing, labeling, and cleanliness Install interior and exterior cameras, including cable termination and testing, neat mounting, and attention to access and weather-sealing Install wireless access points, including cable termination, testing, and clean mounting Install touchscreen back boxes, mounts, and touchscreens so they're level, aligned, protected, and clean Install landscape speakers, subwoofers, and wiring, confirming system type and wire count and weatherproofing all splices Complete wiring retrofits in finished homes with minimal disruption, protecting the client's property throughout Test installed devices and cabling, correct any workmanship issues, and label wiring at the device and head end Report missing information, access problems, material shortages, and other job-site issues promptly Keep work areas, tools, and materials clean and organized, removing installation debris daily Use company vehicles, tools, ladders, lifts, and safety equipment responsibly Required Skills and Experience At least 1 year of experience in low-voltage, AV, electrical, construction, or residential technology installation Working knowledge of structured wiring and residential AV installation Ability to read plans and terminate and test low-voltage cabling Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, testers, ladders, and lifts Strong attention to detail, communication, and reliability Ability to complete assigned work independently under the Rough Install Lead Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications Experience in custom homes, finished-home retrofits, or other high-end residential projects Familiarity with networking, surveillance, audio, and home automation systems OSHA certification or equivalent field-safety training
