Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking Cable Technicians with foundational experience in structured cabling to support commercial and warehouse low voltage installation projects. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in commercial construction or data center environments who are ready to expand their technical skills while working alongside experienced team leads. Technicians will assist with the installation, routing, termination, testing, and organization of copper and fiber optic cabling while maintaining a clean, safe, and detail-oriented work environment. Job Responsibilities Assist with pulling, routing, dressing, labeling, and securing structured cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cable. Terminate and test copper and fiber optic cabling under the guidance of senior technicians. Install infrastructure components including ladder racks, J-hooks, cable trays, conduit, patch panels, and related support systems. Support telecommunications room buildouts, including equipment rack installation and equipment placement. Read and follow installation drawings, cable layouts, and project documentation. Maintain organized work areas by performing continuous jobsite cleanup throughout the workday. Follow OSHA regulations, site-specific safety requirements, and all personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines. Collaborate with team leads and fellow technicians to complete projects accurately and on schedule. Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to established quality standards. Job Requirements 1-2 years of structured cabling experience in commercial construction or data center environments required. Experience with low voltage cabling installation preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Familiarity with copper and fiber optic cable installation, termination, and testing. Working knowledge of common cabling tools, including punch down tools, cable testers, and hand tools. OSHA 10 certification preferred. Lift certification preferred. Must be comfortable working on ladders, personnel lifts, and in overhead or underfloor environments. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods. Must provide basic hand tools, including a multi-bit screwdriver, snips, punch down tool, pliers, tape measure, flashlight, gloves, and tool pouch. Steel or composite toe work boots required. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Education High School Diploma or GED required.
