Job Summary WCC Technologies Group is a Managed Network Services Provider and technology consulting firm specializing in enterprise networking, Wi-Fi, structured cabling, and physical security. We are seeking a Sr. Network Technician for a two-year network modernization project. This hands-on role is focused on structured cabling, hardware replacement, equipment staging, inventory control, and field installation leadership. Duties Manage warehouse inventory, including receiving, inspection, asset and serial-number tracking, secure storage, monthly customer reconciliation, and shipment preparation Manage hardware staging, including unpacking, model verification, physical inspection, module and mounting-hardware installation, labeling, repackaging, and loading engineer-provided firmware or configurations when required by an approved procedure Lead customer-site deployments and coordinate technicians for work ranging from a single hardware replacement to installation of more than 20 switches in one day Remove, replace, and install switches, wireless access points, UPS units, optics, power supplies, mounting hardware, and related accessories Perform rack-and-stack work in MDF and IDF rooms, including rack preparation, equipment mounting, cable management, power connections, grounding coordination, and installation cleanup Install, terminate, patch, label, test, trace, and troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling; correct damaged terminations, patch cords, labeling, and port assignments Install and replace access points and mounting hardware in ceilings and other approved locations using ladders or lifts when required Validate physical installation quality, power, link status, uplink connectivity, PoE operation, and cable-test results before engineering handoff Maintain staging logs, inventory records, installation photos, cable and port documentation, and field notes; troubleshoot physical-layer issues and coordinate defective-hardware support cases and RMAs Experience and Qualifications Minimum five years of hands-on experience with structured cabling, network infrastructure installation, hardware refreshes, or similar field deployment work Experience leading field technicians or coordinating high-volume, multi-site installation activities Strong experience with Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 6A installation, termination, patching, labeling, certification, and troubleshooting Working knowledge of single-mode and multimode fiber, connector types, polarity, cleaning, inspection, patching, and basic optical testing Experience with racks, cabinets, patch panels, cable managers, ladder racks, pathways, equipment-room power, and grounding components Ability to use punch-down tools, crimpers, cable testers and certifiers, tone generators, probes, visual fault locators, and optical power meters Ability to follow floor plans, rack elevations, cable schedules, port maps, equipment lists, methods of procedure, safety requirements, and project checklists Basic understanding of Ethernet, uplinks, PoE, transceivers, and link indicators; strong documentation and communication skills; ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, travel locally, and work occasional maintenance windows; valid driver's license required Preferred Qualifications Experience with large switch-replacement programs, campus upgrades, telecommunications-room buildouts, warehouse asset control, and copper or fiber certification reporting BICSI Installer or Technician, manufacturer cabling certification, OSHA 10, lift certification, or comparable field credentials; familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Ruckus, Meraki, or similar enterprise hardware

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
