Light Action Productions, a full-service production company in Wilmington, DE is seeking an Electrical Cable Repair Technician. The Electrical Cable Repair Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, and maintaining cables and connectors used in stage, event, and theatrical production. This position requires strong attention to detail, basic electrical knowledge, soldering skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspect, test, repair, and maintain production cables including DMX, powerCON, TRUE1, 19-Pin Socapex, CEEP 7 motor control, Edison breakouts, and fixture cables. Inspect cables for damaged jackets, bent pins, overheated connectors, exposed conductors, and other defects. Perform continuity and signal testing using multimeters, cable testers, and other test equipment. Repair and rebuild connectors by stripping conductors, soldering connections, replacing pins, boots, and strain reliefs. Troubleshoot cable and connector issues and determine whether equipment should be repaired or removed from service. Prepare and organize cable packs for shows, rentals, and productions. Maintain accurate repair records and report damaged or unsafe equipment to management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience in the theatrical, concert, live event, or entertainment industry preferred. Proficiency in soldering small electrical connections. Basic understanding of electricity, continuity, polarity, and signal flow. Familiarity with DMX, powerCON, TRUE1, Socapex, CEEP 7, and other production connectors preferred. Ability to read wiring diagrams, cable pinouts, and written instructions. Basic electrical troubleshooting skills required. Ability to safely use a multimeter, cable tester, soldering iron, and hand tools. Strong "Safety First" attitude and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and able to follow directions. Ability to accurately complete any necessary documentation (checklists, etc).

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous cable repair, electrical, electronics, lighting, or production experience preferred.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

Valid Driver's license with reliable transportation required. OSHA or electrical-related certifications a plus.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 6:00pm. Flexibility is required and additional hours are frequently available/necessary. Occasional weekends and evenings.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Employee must be able to stand, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and perform repetitive hand and finger movements. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and safely operate hand tools, soldering equipment, and electrical test equipment. Work may be performed in a warehouse, shop, theater, concert venue, or other production environment. Employee must be able to work safely in noisy and occasionally dusty environments and remain alert and attentive while performing assigned duties.
