JOB OVERVIEW

Drop Crew is responsible for the installation of residential and commercial underground coax and fiber cable lines. Technicians are provided with a variety of equipment to bury drops in support of our customer. This can include vibrator plows, boring machines and hand tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify located utilities to prevent damage.

Locate unmarked utilities and customer-owned equipment (e.g., dog fences, irrigation systems).Restore job sites to their original condition after work completion.

Interpret work drawings and instructions, completing necessary paperwork.

Review all requested and existing services with customers before installing new drops.

Operate trenching and boring equipment for burying cable.

Use handheld units for retrieving and clearing job tasks.

Complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.

Document all tasks, timely and accurately. Ensure responsibility for any damages incurred during work.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES

Operate machinery including trenching and boring equipment for burying cable.

The ability to walk 1/2 mile + while operating following a drop plow that places service cable.

Ability to work the schedule including overtime as needed.

Strong verbal and written communication ability.

Ability to work independently or as a team player. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Willingness to travel as needed.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required.

Valid drivers license required.

Completion of background and MVR checks required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to walk over mile while operating a drop plow for cable installation.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime as needed.
