In Person Position Summary The Field Technician is responsible for the day-to-day completion of work assignments related to field testing. This position performs testing activities, reports accurate field data, maintains assigned equipment and company vehicles, completes required documentation, and communicates job status and location information to Dispatch. The successful candidate must be reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and committed to producing quality work. This position requires a strong work ethic, respect for company property, the ability to cooperate professionally with coworkers and clients, and the ability to listen to, understand, and follow instructions.

Essential Responsibilities:

Field Testing & Quality Complete assigned field testing work accurately, safely, and in accordance with project requirements. Report field data in a complete, timely, accurate, and understandable manner. Ensure project requirements are met and work complies with project specifications, company policies, and established procedures. Promptly communicate field conditions, testing concerns, or other issues that may affect the work assignment. Equipment, Nuclear Devices & Vehicle Care Ensure all test equipment is functioning properly and maintained in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements. Verify that all calibrated equipment remains within its required calibration cycle before use. Sign nuclear devices in and out each day and comply with all radiation-safety and device-handling requirements. Maintain the assigned company vehicle, including timely oil changes, proper fluid levels, cleanliness, and general exterior upkeep. Operate company vehicles safely and comply with all applicable traffic and driving laws. Protect and show respect for company vehicles, equipment, devices, cellular phones, and other company property. Communication & Documentation Keep the company-issued cellular phone accessible while working and return calls promptly. Communicate regularly with the Technical Services Coordinator (Dispatch) regarding current job status, work location, and changes to assignments. Complete daily time and labor reports accurately and in accordance with company policy. Complete all required field and project documentation in a timely manner and return it to the branch office as directed. Submit paperwork each workday with the applicable work order attached. Attend all required Technician meetings and training sessions. Safety & Professional Conduct Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and site-specific requirements. Wear required work attire, including the designated work shirt and appropriate work boots. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality and report to assignments prepared to work. Interact professionally and cooperatively with clients, coworkers, contractors, and other project personnel. Perform other duties as assigned. Prior field testing, construction materials testing, construction, or related experience is preferred. Ability to learn and consistently follow field-testing methods, safety requirements, documentation procedures, and company policies. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence and to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, and groups of employees. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to apply these skills to field measurements and reporting. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems involving concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to understand and apply instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Required Certificates, Licenses & Registrations Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain ACI Concrete Field Testing TechnicianGrade I certification. Ability to obtain and maintain required Radiation Safety certification. Safely enter, exit, and operate a company vehicle and move across active project sites and uneven terrain. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described below are representative of conditions encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions and work at elevated or otherwise potentially hazardous locations. Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and potential radiation hazards associated with properly controlled testing devices. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate but may vary by project site. Required use of personal protective equipment and adherence to all company and site-specific safety procedures.
