Duties Install and troubleshoot coax and fiber optic cables, Ethernet wiring, telephony systems, and other low-voltage cabling to ensure optimal network performance Perform fiber splicing with precision to connect fiber optic lines efficiently and securely Set up and configure network equipment, such as Cisco routers and switches, to establish reliable network connections Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to run cables through walls, ceilings, and outdoor environments while adhering to safety standards Conduct field service tasks, including diagnosing issues with telecommunication systems and performing repairs or upgrades as needed Test electrical circuits using tools like ohmmeters to verify proper connections and system integrity Document installation processes, system configurations, and maintenance activities accurately for record-keeping Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or in a related field within telecommunications or electrical systems Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts, including Ethernet, telephony, and telecommunication infrastructure Hands-on experience with coax and/or fiber splicing, network installation, and cable management techniques Familiarity with basic home structures and layout, basic network configuration procedures Ability to operate hand tools effectively and perform mechanical tasks related to cabling installations Electrical experience with low voltage systems and troubleshooting using testing equipment such as ohmmeters Mechanical aptitude combined with a proactive approach to field service tasks Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in complex installations Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards Embark on a rewarding career where your technical skills make a real difference!
