As a Low Voltage Cable Technician, you will be integral to installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced low voltage systems. Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) in commercial, healthcare, and industrial facilitiesPerform fiber optic cable pulling, splicing, OTDR and Fluke testing, and document results accuratelyInstall and commission IP camera systems (Axis, Hanwha, Avigilon) and access control hardware (Lenel, Genetec, HID readers)Build out MDF/IDF rooms with proper cable management, labeling, patch panels, and rack assembliesOperate hand tools, fish tape, punch-down tools, and termination equipment safely and proficientlyRead and execute construction drawings and as-builts to ensure accurate installationsCoordinate with project managers, general contractors, and clients on active job sites, representing the company professionallyWork effectively in both team-based and independent settings, maintaining professionalism especially in occupied environments like hospitals and hotels Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in low voltage installation, including structured cabling, fiber, or security systemsHigh school diploma or equivalentValid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications Experience with structured cabling and fiber opticsFamiliarity with IP camera and access control systemsProficiency with testing equipment such as OTDR and FlukeAbility to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawingsStrong skills using hand tools related to low voltage workEffective communication, problem solving, and teamwork abilitiesCompany DescriptionTotal Network Consulting delivers end-to-end low-voltage and network infrastructure solutions for organizations that depend on reliable connectivity and physical security.
