In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and industrial environments. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of network infrastructure, telecommunication systems, and security solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilize your technical skills, and contribute to the reliable connectivity that keeps businesses running smoothly. Duties Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and other low voltage wiring in accordance with industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code). Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute network and telecommunication installations. Perform fiber splicing and testing using specialized tools like optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR) and ohmmeters to ensure optimal performance. Set up and configure network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, switches, VoIP systems (such as Avaya), and other telecommunications hardware. Conduct field service activities such as troubleshooting network issues, repairing equipment, and performing preventive maintenance in data centers or client sites. Install CCTV cameras, access control systems, alarms, and other security devices while ensuring proper integration with existing networks. Use hand tools and power tools safely to complete installations efficiently while adhering to safety standards like NEC regulations. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in low voltage cabling, network installation, or telecommunications. Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN configurations, Ethernet standards, and telephony systems. Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams for complex installations. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, equipment repair, and testing tools such as ohmmeters or OTDRs. Knowledge of electrical safety standards including NEC codes related to low voltage wiring. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments such as data centers or commercial buildings. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism during client interactions.
