We deliver reliable internet and cloud services to residential and business customers throughout the area. We are looking for an experienced, self-sufficient Field Installer who is comfortable working independently in outdoor environments. Job Title Wireless Internet Field Technician (Installer) Job Type Full-Time 40 hrs per week (M-F 8am-5pm) Location Elgin, IL + Surrounding area (field-based role) Job Overview This position focuses on the installation of fixed wireless internet systems, including mounting and aligning antennas, running Ethernet cabling, and configuring customer equipment. This is not an entry-level role. Candidates should have prior field experience in wireless installations, satellite, security cameras, or low-voltage cabling. Responsibilities Install and align wireless antennas (rooftops, towers, exterior mounts) Run, terminate, and test Cat5e/Cat6 cabling Install and configure customer networking equipment (routers, PoE devices) Perform on-site troubleshooting (signal strength, interference, connectivity) Safely climb ladders and work at heights exceeding 30 feet Work outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round Maintain accurate inventory, job documentation and communicate status updates Required Experience 1+ year of field installation experience (WISP, satellite, CCTV, or low-voltage) Experience running and terminating Ethernet cabling Comfortable working at heights and on roofs Experience using installation tools (drill, crimper, cable tester, voltmeter, etc.) Technical Skills Basic IP networking knowledge (DHCP, static IP, routers) Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and signal issues Familiarity with wireless or RF-based systems preferred Preferred (Strongly Considered) WISP installation experience Experience with Cambium, Ubiquiti, or similar platforms Mikrotik or basic routing knowledge experience with point-to-point or point-to-multipoint systems Requirements Valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, and on ladders Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
