Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Low Voltage Installer and become a vital part of delivering cutting-edge communication and security solutions! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low voltage systems across various commercial and residential settings. Your expertise will help ensure seamless network connectivity, reliable security systems, and efficient telecommunication infrastructure. Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV, access control, fiber optic cabling, Ethernet networks, VoIP telephony, alarm systems, camera systems Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications to ensure accurate system setup. Perform fiber splicing and cabling tasks using power tools and hand tools to establish reliable connections. Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues, repair equipment, and optimize system performance for clients. Configure network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya telephony systems, and other telecommunication hardware. Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety protocols during all installation activities. Collaborate with customers to provide exceptional service, explain system functions, and address any questions or concerns related to low voltage systems. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or installer in low voltage systems, with knowledge of electrical wiring standards. Familiarity with computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and network equipment setup. Hands-on experience with CCTV installation, fiber splicing, VoIP systems, telephony solutions (including Avaya), and data center environments. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately; experience with Ohmmeters for testing electrical circuits is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively. Knowledge of telecommunication standards such as NEC regulations; familiarity with Juniper routers is advantageous. Electrical experience or certifications are preferred; previous work with LAN/WAN networks or IT infrastructure is highly valued.
