Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking multiple experienced Cable Installer Level II Technicians to support large-scale structured cabling projects for one of our end users. Qualified candidates must have hands-on experience in commercial communications cabling environments and be capable of working independently or leading crews as needed. Duties Pull, terminate, and test CAT5/5e/6 and fiber optic cabling Install cable pathway systems and fire-stopping Test, label, and document horizontal and backbone cabling Dress and route cables into telecom closets, modular furniture, and work area outlets Build out telecom and equipment rooms Troubleshoot cabling issues and document test results Assist with installation and maintenance of IT equipment, including VTC and A/V systems (under direction of Lead Technician) Provide field updates and reporting to Project Manager Perform preventive maintenance as required (includes ladder climbing and lift operation) Lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs Add/remove common systems equipment and hardware Add/remove wiring and connections (non-working equipment only) Verify leads and analyze job specifications/drawings Assign work to crew members Complete required documentation and forms Resolve job specification or drawing discrepancies Conduct in-process and final quality inspections Serve as technician-in-charge on assigned projects Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of experience installing, terminating, and testing low-voltage and fiber optic cabling Working knowledge of Telecom Systems, TCP/IP networks, CCTV, and Access Control systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documentation Valid driver's license with safe driving record Ability to pass DoD and TSA background checks Ability to pass drug screening RCDD certification preferred but not required Preferred Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience managing multiple tasks and working cross-functionally Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven Team-oriented with a positive attitude Adaptable and able to work in fast-paced environments
