Cable Technician (Entry-Level to Experienced) 📍 Multiple Work Environments (Residential, Commercial, and Industrial) 💼 Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire Opportunity About the Role We are seeking motivated and reliable Cable Technicians to join a growing team supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic and coaxial cable systems. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-speed internet and communication services across residential homes, office buildings, and large-scale commercial facilities. What You'll Be Doing Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic and coaxial cable systems Perform fiber and coax splicing , including aerial and underground applications Support installations for residential homes, small/medium businesses (SMBs), and commercial projects Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues to ensure optimal network performance Identify, repair, or replace damaged or outdated cable infrastructure Conduct live splicing on active systems with minimal service disruption Measure and document signal strength for internet, TV, and phone services Read, update, and maintain network diagrams, layouts, and system documentation Evaluate job sites and proactively identify potential installation risks Educate customers on services and assist with equipment setup when needed Skills & Experience We're Looking For Hands-on experience or training in: Fiber Optics (FTTH preferred) Coaxial Cable Installation Cat6 Cabling Punch-downs and terminations Ability to use hand tools and basic test equipment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces if needed Preferred Qualifications 1+ year of experience in cable installation or telecom environments (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply) Experience supporting or leading small installation projects is a plus Strong computer skills (tablets, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, project tracking tools) Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude Ability to make decisions independently and work effectively under pressure What Makes This Opportunity Attractive ✅ Entry-level friendly with hands-on training opportunities ✅ Exposure to cutting-edge fiber technology and infrastructure projects ✅ Opportunities to grow into lead technician or supervisor roles ✅ Work on diverse job sites—no two days are the same ✅ Stable and growing industry with strong long-term career potential Who Should Apply Candidates looking to break into the telecom or low-voltage industry Experienced cable technicians seeking stable, long-term work Individuals who enjoy hands-on, field-based work and problem-solving Those who take pride in delivering high-quality installations and customer service If you're ready to build a rewarding career in one of today's fastest-growing technical fields, apply today and take the next step forward. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mancelona, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
