This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in diverse field environments, ensuring reliable connectivity for our clients. As a Cable Technician Contractor, you will be responsible for executing cable runs, fiber splicing, network setup, and system testing with precision and professionalism. Your expertise will help deliver seamless communication solutions that keep our clients connected and operational. Duties Install, terminate, and troubleshoot various cabling systems including Ethernet, fiber optic, and low voltage wiring in commercial or residential settings Perform fiber splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal transmission and minimal loss Set up and configure network equipment such as Cisco routers, switches, and telephony systems to establish reliable communication networks Use hand tools and testing devices like ohmmeters to verify cable integrity, continuity, and electrical performance Conduct field service tasks including system diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on telecommunication infrastructure Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes while maintaining high-quality workmanship Experience Proven experience as a service technician or field technician specializing in telecommunication or networking systems Hands-on knowledge of fiber splicing techniques and network installation procedures Familiarity with Cisco routers, Ethernet cabling, telephony systems, and low voltage wiring Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate hand tools effectively in various environments Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols and network troubleshooting methods Previous experience working with telecommunication infrastructure or low voltage electrical systems is highly desirable Ability to read technical diagrams and perform precise cable management in tight spaces
