Job Summary Black Dog Solutions (BDS) LLC is seeking a detail oriented, organized, and a safety-conscious hands-on Technician for the Cable and Assembly Manufacturing/Test unit of our engineering division. This position will be directly supporting the Automatic Test Systems (ATS) with the manufacture, assembly, inspection, troubleshooting, and testing of cables, wiring harnesses, electromechanical assemblies, and all related test equipment. Core Responsibilities:
Build and test cables, harnesses, test adapters, breakout cables, interface panels, and electromechanical assemblies with the ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, bills of material, and work instructions related to the work assigned. Support prototype fabrication, engineering changes, redline updates, and repair/rework activity and assist engineers with test setup, fixture checkout, test execution, and failure isolation. Troubleshoot cable and assembly faults. Assist with preparing and maintaining test records, inspection sheets, travelers, build notes, nonconformance notes, and configuration documentation. Perform other technical duties as assigned. Support and track all aspects of inventory control, for materials, packaging, and shipment preparations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DoD, Army, ATE, TPS, electronics sustainment, or defense manufacturing programs and ability to work in a secure government environment including ESD controls, and

cable and wiring harnesses. Ability to build test adapters, interface cables, military-style cables, RF cables, power cables, or ruggedized assemblies. Experience with configuration control, redlines, engineering change notices, quality records, travelers, and inspection/test documentation. Possess strong working knowledge of electrical and electronic assembly methods, basic electrical theory, fabrication techniques, and test equipment operations and the ability to use standardized analytical methods, interpret the schematics to identify anomalies and communicate this to the Chief of Engineering. Physical Requirements:
The ideal candidate MUST meet the physical requirements to meet work requirements. Ability to work at a bench or workstation for extended periods. Ability to use hand tools and to lift and carry materials, etc. up to 35 pounds. Ability to work in office, lab, shop, and customer-site environments and comply with all site safety, security, and access requirements.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school, military electronics training, vocational training, or associate degree in electronics, electrical technology, mechanical technology, or related field preferred. Hands-on experience fabricating, assembling, repairing, or testing cables, harnesses, electronic assemblies, or electromechanical assemblies.
