Power and Cable Supervisor Position Summary The Power and Cable Technician is responsible for the preparation, testing, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and inventory management of power distribution and cable equipment used in entertainment and production environments. This position supports warehouse operations by ensuring equipment is properly staged, inspected, maintained, and ready for deployment while meeting company quality and safety standards. The Power and Cable Technician also assist with equipment fabrication, assembly, and preventive maintenance initiatives, applying technical and electrical knowledge to maximize equipment reliability and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to safety, quality, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Pull, prepare, stage, load, and unload cable and power equipment for rental orders and upcoming projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain power distribution and cable equipment to ensure reliability, quality, and client satisfaction. Examine incoming and returned equipment, identify issues, perform necessary repairs, and document maintenance activities. Properly check in, coil, label, organize, and store cables, power equipment, and related inventory in accordance with established procedures. Assist in the fabrication, assembly, and modification of power and cable equipment, including soldering, LED installation, and related technical tasks. Collaborate with the Power and Cable Supervisor to implement preventive maintenance programs and support continuous equipment readiness. Maintain accurate inventory and ensure equipment is readily accessible for warehouse and project needs. Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments to ensure deadlines, quality standards, and operational requirements are met. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with company policies and industry safety standards. Apply working knowledge of electrical systems and components to support troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment operation. Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines when handling electrical equipment, tools, and materials. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous warehouse, production, technical, electrical, or related experience preferred. Basic knowledge of power distribution systems, cable assemblies, connectors, and electrical equipment. Working knowledge of electricity and electrical safety practices. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment. Experience using hand tools, test equipment, and soldering tools preferred. Ability to read and follow work instructions, technical documentation, and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to accurately inspect, test, and troubleshoot equipment issues. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50-75 pounds independently and heavier loads with team assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday. Ability to load, unload, move, and organize equipment in a warehouse environment. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required to safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other technical equipment. Ability to distinguish colors and identify cable markings, connectors, and equipment labels. Stamina to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods in a fast-paced environment while meeting operational deadlines. Ability to safely operate material handling equipment and work around moving machinery and equipment. Ability to wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toe footwear. Working Conditions This position is performed in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature fluctuations, frequent exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment. Shift schedules may include early mornings, late evenings, or weekends depending on business needs.
