Job Description
1099 Cable Technician - Baton Rouge, LA United Install Group is currently hiring 1099 Cable Technicians in Baton Rouge, LA and surrounding areas. We provide installation and service work for Cox Communications customers, including internet, video, and phone services. Pay Piece-rate compensation Experienced technicians average $1,000+ per week Top-performing technicians can average $1,500+ per week Weekly pay Training Available No experience? No problem. We offer a hands-on training program (up to 3 weeks) and welcome entry-level applicants. Most technicians reach average production levels within approximately six months. Job Responsibilities Install and troubleshoot internet, video, and phone services Run and terminate coax and fiber cabling Perform inside and outside service work Educate customers and provide excellent customer service Maintain quality metrics established by Cox Communications Work independently and manage daily routes averaging 8-12 jobs Schedule Full-time 1099 position Typical hours are 8:00 AM until route completion Routes generally include 8-12 work orders per day Typical schedule is Sun and Mon as off days Physical Requirements Ability to safely carry and climb a 28' extension ladder Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to work in attics and crawl spaces Lift and carry equipment as needed Strong customer service and communication skills Requirements Truck, van, or SUV with ladder rack (Lease-to-Own program available for qualified applicants) Smartphone with unlimited data Ability to pass required background screening Valid driver's license and clean MVR Must be dependable and self-motivated Must have exception customer service skills Being handy with tools is a plus Preferred Tools and Experience Experienced applicants with cable installation truck, tools, and/or fiber experience are encouraged to apply.
