Job Description
Access Control Technician Join a growing team supporting commercial security and access control projects throughout the Charleston area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with low-voltage, electrical, security, or structured cabling experience who wants to build a long-term career in the electronic security industry. What You'll Do + Install access control devices including card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, electric strikes, and magnetic locks + Assist with the installation of commercial security and access control systems + Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling as needed + Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project documentation + Troubleshoot wiring issues, device failures, and system performance problems + Support system testing, startup, and commissioning activities + Work closely with project teams to complete projects on schedule + Maintain a professional presence at customer sites Required Qualifications + 1+ year of experience in low-voltage, security, access control, electrical, or structured cabling environments + Basic understanding of wiring, circuits, and electrical concepts + Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills + Ability to use hand and power tools safely + Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and installation documentation + Valid driver's license and reliable transportation + Ability to work independently and as part of a team + Strong communication skills and dependable attendance Preferred Qualifications + Experience installing access control systems or electronic door hardware + Experience with CCTV and integrated security systems + Exposure to platforms such as Lenel, Genetec, Software House, Openpath, Avigilon, or Brivo + OSHA 10 Certification + Scissor Lift Certification + Commercial construction experience + Customer-facing service experience What We're Looking For + Motivated individuals who are eager to learn new technologies + Strong work ethic and positive attitude + Resourceful problem-solvers who can work independently + Professional, reliable team members who take pride in their work + Candidates seeking a long-term career growth opportunity in the security industry Key Skills Access Control
