Low Voltage Cabling Technician - Commercial Cabling & Systems Spartanburg, SC Join Next Level Technician as a Low Voltage Cabling Technician in Spartanburg, SC! Earn $20-$28/hr , enjoy weekly pay, benefits, and work on commercial low voltage infrastructure projects including fiber, access control, structured cabling, and communication systems. ! Position Summary The Low Voltage Cabling Technician is responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting commercial communication systems including fiber optics, structured cabling, access control, intrusion detection, AV, and DAS systems. This role requires strong installation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards on job sites. Responsibilities Install and terminate Coax, UTP, DAS, AV, Multiconductor, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Fiber cables and connectors Operate copper and fiber testing equipment and troubleshoot performance issues Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and job scopes accurately Perform retrofits and upgrades to existing cabling systems and devices Assist with cable pathway layouts and support junior installers when needed Install and mount equipment such as switches, cameras, UPS systems, and related devices Track materials and communicate daily progress with project leads and foremen Ensure bonding, grounding, firestopping, and other critical project requirements are completed properly Maintain jobsite cleanliness, professionalism, and safety standards at all times Follow OSHA 10 guidelines and company installation standards Requirements 1-2+ years of low-voltage installation experience in commercial construction Experience with structured cabling, fiber, access control, or communication systems Knowledge of color codes (4-pair and 25-pair) and cable termination methods Ability to interpret schematics and construction drawings Basic use of smartphones, tablets, and cable testing equipment Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) Valid driver's license with clean driving record OSHA 10 Certification required High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) Preferred Qualifications Experience with Smartsheet or project tracking tools Experience leading small crews or mentoring junior technicians Strong troubleshooting and retrofit experience Familiarity with bonding, grounding, and firestopping requirements Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated or confined spaces Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and work with tools for extended periods Comfortable working in active construction environments Why Work with Next Level Technician in Spartanburg, SC?
