Owner / Lead Technician About Us Vigilance Security and Technology is a Tennessee-based security and technology integration company. We install and service IP camera systems, access control, structured cabling, and network infrastructure for commercial, government, and institutional clients across the region. We take pride in doing clean, professional work and standing behind it. Position Summary We are looking for a dependable, hands-on part-time technician to assist with the installation and service of low-voltage security and technology systems. This is a great fit for someone who likes working with their hands, learning new skills, and being out in the field. No two days look exactly the same. Prior experience is a plus but not required. We are willing to train the right person who shows up ready to work. Responsibilities Pull and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, coax, etc.) Mount and install IP cameras, access control hardware, and related equipment Assist with running conduit, fishing wire, and basic device installation Help test and troubleshoot systems alongside the lead technician Perform light carpentry as needed (mounting backboards, building out enclosures, patching and finishing penetrations, basic framing and trim work) Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment Communicate clearly with the lead tech and represent the company professionally on customer sites Qualifications Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Able to follow directions and work as part of a small team Comfortable working on ladders and lifts, and in attics, crawl spaces, and tight areas Basic hand-tool familiarity Willingness to learn and a strong work ethic Must pass a background check Preferred (Not Required) Carpentry experience (framing, finish work, mounting, general construction) Prior low-voltage, cabling, electrical, or construction experience Familiarity with cameras, networking, or access control systems Physical Requirements Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Able to stand, kneel, climb, and work in varied positions for extended periods Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments in varying conditions Hours & Pay Part-time, flexible scheduling based on workload Pay based on experience Opportunity to grow into additional hours or a full-time role for the right person
Pay:
$15.00 - $22.00 per hour
