Job Description

Low-Voltage Technician 3206 Longmire Drive, College Station, TX 77845 The Low-Voltage Technician is a temporary position at Baton Rouge, LA who will be responsible for aiding the contracting team members in project execution and ensuring end users receive high quality work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Pulling and routing CAT5 or CAT 6 cable in a DATA CENTER or new construction commercial environment Build out telecommunications closets Install cable support systems which consist of cable tray, j-hooks and ladder tray Install cat 5/6 horizontal station cable, backbone cable, and fiber optic cable and riser systems Install and termination of
RG6/RG11
Coaxial Cabling Install specialty systems (security & CCTV) and fire alarm cable Terminate cat 5/6 horizontal 4-pair work-area outlet (modular connector) Must be able to terminate RJ45Plugs Perform copper cable testing (UTP, coax) Perform both copper and fiber troubleshooting.
Qualifications :
Experience in Low Voltage Structured Cabling, Access Control, and Coaxial Cabling preferred Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools Must have the ability to lift/carry 50 lbs. Ability to work overtime as needed Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Data Center experience a plus Perform fiber splicing (fusion) experience a plus Knowledge of codes and standards (OSHA and BICSI) a plus Maintain a positive attitude and professional dress & demeanor Able to follow all safety rules and instructions Must have a valid driver's license

Competencies :
Copper and/or Fiber installation experience is a plus Other Manufacturers Certifications Other Certifications such as OSHA, Confined Space, etc.
