  • Full-time NCS is seeking a skilled and motivated Security / Access Control Technician to join our Corpus Christi team.
The Security / Access Control Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and other low-voltage security systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working in commercial, industrial, and mission-critical environments while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot access control systems, including card readers, door controllers, electric strikes, mag locks, request-to-exit devices, and door position switches. Install and maintain IP and analog CCTV/video surveillance systems. Install and service intrusion detection and alarm systems. Run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, and security wiring. Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and project specifications. Perform system programming, software configuration, and firmware updates as required. Conduct system testing, inspections, and commissioning activities. Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and field device issues. Complete service tickets, project documentation, testing reports, and as-built drawings. Coordinate with project managers, customers, and other trades to ensure successful project completion. Ensure compliance with company safety standards, customer requirements, and industry best practices. Provide end-user training and system demonstrations when required. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in a professional manner. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of experience installing and servicing security and access control systems. Experience with commercial access control systems and security platforms. Knowledge of low-voltage cabling installation standards and practices. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Familiarity with IP networking concepts and troubleshooting. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to pass background screening and drug testing requirements. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in security, access control, or low-voltage systems.

LenelS2 Genetec Avigilon Software House C CURE Honeywell Brivo Openpath Verkada Industry certifications preferred: ESA Certified Alarm Technician BICSI Technician OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Manufacturer certifications
