1+ year leading crews Join Our Team TechPlus Solutions is seeking an experienced Lead Low Voltage Cable Technician with 5+ years of hands-on experience in structured cabling and commercial low voltage installations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience leading crews and overseeing installations involving MDFs, IDFs, network cabinets, wireless access points (APs), and structured cabling systems. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on in the field. The Lead Technician will help coordinate crews, maintain installation quality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. Responsibilities Lead and oversee crews of low voltage technicians on commercial projects. Pull, route, dress, and secure low voltage and structured cabling. Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e/Cat6 and other structured cabling systems. Install and configure Wireless Access Points (APs) and associated cabling. Build, install, and organize network cabinets, racks, patch panels, and cable management systems. Perform installations in MDF and IDF rooms, including rack and equipment organization. Read and interpret blueprints, project drawings, cable schedules, and specifications. Ensure cable pathways, labeling, terminations, and workmanship meet project standards. Test and certify structured cabling using appropriate testing equipment. Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, and installation issues in the field. Coordinate daily tasks and assignments for crew members. Communicate project progress, issues, and material needs to project management. Help ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality expectations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Follow all company and job-site safety requirements. Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience in low voltage and structured cabling. 1+ year of experience as a Lead Technician or in a crew leadership role. Strong experience with structured cabling installations in commercial environments. Hands-on experience installing Wireless Access Points (APs). Experience building and organizing network cabinets, racks, and patch panels. Strong experience working in MDF and IDF rooms. Proficiency with cable termination, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and cable plans. Experience leading, directing, and mentoring low voltage technicians. Strong knowledge of cable routing, dressing, and cable management best practices. Ability to safely use hand and power tools. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on ladders when required. Ability to work independently while effectively leading a field crew.
