TradeSTAR is hiring Entry-Level Cabling Helpers for a growing client supporting commercial voice and data projects across San Antonio. If you're mechanically inclined, dependable, and ready to learn the technical side of the trade—this is your way in. ________________________________________ About the Opportunity You'll be working on commercial construction and technology infrastructure projects across San Antonio—helping build the backbone of modern communication systems. This is hands-on work where you'll learn real skills in structured cabling, industry standards, and job site operations. ________________________________________ What You'll Do Pull and route Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling through commercial buildings Install support infrastructure: o J-hooks, bridle rings, cable tray, ladder rack Assist with cable dressing, bundling, and labeling per TIA/EIA standards Learn and assist with basic terminations: o RJ45 jacks, patch panels, and workstation outlets Support IDF/MDF buildouts including rack and stack prep Use basic hand tools and learn proper use of: o Cable pullers, fish tape, toner/probe kits, and punch-down tools Follow prints and direction to identify cable pathways and device locations Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas on active job sites ________________________________________ Qualifications - Who You Are 0-18 months of experience in construction, electrical, or low voltage preferred Basic understanding of hand tools and job site safety Interest in learning structured cabling systems and industry standards (TIA/EIA) Ability to work in commercial environments (ladders, lifts, job site conditions) Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn from experienced techs Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team OSHA 10 is a plus ________________________________________ Why TradeSTAR We help you turn a job into a career in the low voltage industry.
