Job Description
Installation Technician III is a senior technician role responsible for the physical installation, programming, and implementation for large, complex security projects. This role works with minimal supervision and is responsible for providing training to less senior installation technicians. A successful candidate for the Installation Technician III role will be comfortable leading field teams and have expert level technical installation skills. - Perform installation and programming of security projects of all complexities per scope of work documents
- Training and mentoring Installation Technicians I & II
- Serve as crew foreman on larger projects as needed
- Interface with customers to resolve installation and service concerns and questions
- Follow and/or adapt proper schematic wiring diagrams and termination procedures
- Markup as-built drawings, system documentation and device schedules.
- Test operation of system to confirm compliance the scope of work, 100% functionality and customers satisfaction
- Ensure that systems are installed in a time efficient manner meeting project deadlines
- Assist Project Managers with IT coordination, implementation, system commissioning support and final documentation as needed
- Communicate job status and project issues to Operations Manager or Project Managers regularly
- Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries and damage to property
- On-call responsibilities and light service calls as required
- Overnight stay and travel while performing duties at remote job locations and job training when required Minimum skills and qualifications:
- Possess a valid state issued driver's license and clean driving record
- 5 years direct industry experience
- Meet State qualifications alarm licensing and electronics security personnel as required
- Comprehensive understanding of installation methods, troubleshooting methods, best practices, and procedures
- Thorough understanding of basic electronics, installation and troubleshooting methods
- Thorough understanding of all platforms installed and serviced by the company
- Excellent knowledge of electrified door hardware and hardware installation
- Strong understanding of networks
- Effectively use basic office software such as Bluebeam®, NetSuite®, Microsoft Excel®, Microsoft Word®, and Microsoft Outlook®.
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to safely work at heights on ladders and aerial lifts
- Ability to successfully lead field crews on projects and ability to lead by example and mentor newer technicians
