Daily responsibilities include installing new services, resolving connectivity issues, maintaining existing cable infrastructure, and providing excellent customer support during service appointments. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship. Previous experience in cable, broadband, or telecommunications is beneficial, but candidates with relevant technical backgrounds and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time W-2 employment opportunity offering consistent work, paid training, and long-term career advancement in the telecommunications industry. Core Duties Perform installation, maintenance, and service work for residential cable and broadband customers. Complete new service activations, equipment replacements, and repair visits according to company procedures. Inspect cable systems, identify service interruptions, and restore network performance through effective troubleshooting. Install and configure customer-premises equipment, including modems, routers, and related hardware. Follow approved installation methods while maintaining quality workmanship and protecting customer property. Record job completion details, production information, and materials used for each assigned work order. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition. Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and dispatch regarding work progress, scheduling, and any field-related concerns.
Compensation:
Compensation is based on a production/per-job structure under the company's current rate system. Earnings vary depending on workload, completed jobs, and production level. Most technicians typically average approximately $24-$30 per hour equivalent, with higher earning potential available through increased production and completed services. Typical weekly earnings commonly range between $1,500 and $2,000 based on production and hours worked. All compensation complies with applicable federal and state minimum wage and overtime laws. Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience in cable installation, telecommunications, broadband services, or a similar field is preferred but not required for candidates with relevant technical experience. Ability to safely use common field tools, ladders, mobile devices, and installation equipment while working in residential and outdoor environments. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify service issues and complete repairs efficiently. Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members. Ability to manage daily assignments, work independently, and adapt to changing schedules or project priorities. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and the ability to travel between assigned job locations. Access to a truck, van, or SUV capable of transporting tools, ladders, and work materials required for daily field operations. Must be able to meet all pre-employment requirements, including background screening and drug testing where permitted by applicable laws. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, working outdoors in different weather conditions, and standing or walking for extended periods.
