Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and residential environments. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical communication, security, and data systems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients' infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a passion for problem-solving. Willing to train the right candidate Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV surveillance, access control, fiber optic cabling, VoIP telephony, Ethernet networks, and data cabling such as Cat5 and Cat6. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute system installations and repairs. Perform fiber splicing and termination to ensure high-quality data transmission across networks. Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues, perform equipment repairs, and provide maintenance on telecommunication systems and network hardware. Assist with network installation projects involving Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, switches, and LAN/WAN configurations. Use hand tools and power tools safely to install cabling infrastructure in commercial or residential settings while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during every interaction. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including system configurations, test results, and service reports for future reference. Experience Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Service Technician working with telecommunications or networking systems. Hands-on experience with CCTV installation, fiber splicing, Ethernet wiring (Cat5/Cat6), VoIP systems like Avaya or similar platforms. Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN setup, Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and network troubleshooting techniques. Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC) related to low voltage wiring and cabling practices. Ability to operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters for continuity testing and troubleshooting electrical issues effectively. Prior experience working in data centers or high-tech environments is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients of varying technical backgrounds. Physical ability to perform installations using hand tools and power tools safely in various environments.
