This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of telecommunications, data cabling, network infrastructure, and electronic systems. As a Low Voltage Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliable operation of critical communication and security systems, supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that enhance connectivity and security solutions. Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV surveillance, fiber optic cabling, Ethernet networks, VoIP telephony, and access control systems. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure precise system installation and maintenance. Perform fiber splicing with accuracy to establish high-quality data transmission links. Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues, repair equipment, and optimize system performance. Install network hardware such as Cisco routers, Juniper switches, and Avaya telephony equipment in accordance with industry standards. Manage cabling infrastructure using appropriate tools such as power tools, hand tools, and ohmmeters for testing continuity and resistance. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, modifications, and service reports. Ensure compliance with electrical codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) standards during installations. Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions and addressing concerns effectively. Support data center operations by installing and maintaining critical network hardware and cabling infrastructure. Qualifications Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Service Technician with a strong background in telecommunications and networking. Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting CCTV systems, fiber splicing, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and telephony systems including VoIP. Knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN architecture, switches, routers (Cisco/Junos), and network protocols. Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to low voltage systems. Hands-on experience with equipment repair using power tools and testing devices like ohmmeters. Understanding of telecommunication standards including NEC regulations. Ability to read technical schematics accurately and follow safety procedures diligently. Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to client interactions. Relevant certifications or training in low voltage systems or electrical work are preferred.
