Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles in the field. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and reliably across various job sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, from drill rigs, to trucks and small construction equipment, all while delivering top-tier service and support. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems on mobile equipment. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, and fluid checks to keep equipment in optimal condition. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure equipment performance. Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery safely and effectively during repair or maintenance tasks. Assist with assembly or disassembly of components during repairs or upgrades; ensure all work meets safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and offering technical guidance to operators or clients. Skills Proven experience working as a heavy duty diesel mechanic Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and tire service. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of using hand tools and power tools proficiently. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, skidsteers and other small equipment safely in various environments. Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience to diagnose and resolve electrical system faults effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety compliance and quality workmanship. Strong physical ability for heavy lifting and working in diverse outdoor conditions; committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
