Job Description

Overview Join our team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. In this role, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and service diesel engines and related systems to ensure optimal performance. Mainly Forklifts, Skiffs, & Diesle equitment. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and advanced automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and industrial equipment to ensure reliable operation. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements. Replace or repair brake systems, alignments, tires, powertrain components, and perform detailed assembly work to restore equipment to factory standards. Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing phases while adhering to safety protocols related to HVAC systems, hydraulics, and heavy lifting procedures. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering maintenance advice to clients or team members. Requirements Experience as a Diesel Mechanic; strong background in automotive repair and heavy equipment maintenance required. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension alignment, HVAC systems, welding techniques, and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to read detailed schematics and technical manuals; familiarity with OEM parts catalogs is highly desirable. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, soldering irons, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools necessary for complex repairs. Experience working with industrial equipment such as forklifts, cranes or excavators, tractor-trailers, or similar heavy-duty vehicles is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks safely. Valid certifications related to vehicle maintenance or service technician roles; ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent is a plus. Commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship; ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
Pay:
$29.43 - $50.00 per hour
