Work Schedule:
Monday•Friday, 8:30 AM•5:00 PM Holidays and weekends off. Opportunity for frequent overtime. Job Overview New Edge Diesels is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in a safe, efficient, and professional work environment. We value continuous improvement and are looking for a candidate with a solid background in diesel engine repair who is committed to excellence.
Key Responsibilities & Duties Preventive Maintenance:
Perform routine services including oil and filter changes, lubrication, tire rotations, and inspections to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
Utilize and learn new diagnostic tools to efficiently identify and solve engine and system issues.
Repairs and Component Replacement:
Execute necessary repairs, replace components, and conduct major overhauls as needed.
Compliance and Inspections:
Ensure vehicles meet DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory standards through regular inspections.
Testing and Quality Control:
Test drive and run equipment after repairs to verify the work performed meets quality and safety standards.
Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and repair processes.
Safety and Housekeeping:
Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Collaboration and Customer Service:
Work closely with team members to achieve timely repairs while providing clear and professional explanations to customers regarding repair needs and solutions. Other duties as assigned.
Tools, Equipment & Diagnostic Technology Diagnostic Tools Used:
Cummins Insight / Quick Serve Diagnostic Link Davie 4
Service Ranger Premium Tech Tool Bendix Tools and Equipment:
Must have ownership of personal tools and tool box as a qualification.
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on Diesel Engine Repair experience. 2+ years experience as a diesel technician or mechanic.
Education:
GED or High School Diploma required.
Vocational Training Certifications:
ASE Certification preferred but not required.
Technical Skills:
Proficient with computers and able to adapt to new technologies. Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, modern diagnostic tools.
Language Skills:
Must be proficient in English; bilingual candidates with Spanish fluency are highly preferred.
Work Ethic:
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, proactiveness, and a commitment to safety and quality.
