Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of machinery used in various industrial, construction, and agricultural applications. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension, and electrical components using OEM schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery to ensure reliable operation. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving powertrains, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical systems with precision. Complete detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and inspection documentation to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM specifications. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures to verify proper functioning after service is completed. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering recommendations for ongoing maintenance. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or industrial equipment background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes (including air brake systems), suspension systems, and electrical diagnostics. Proficiency in reading schematics and using diagnostic software to identify issues accurately. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment such as excavators or forklifts when necessary. Knowledge of OEM standards for vehicle maintenance and repair across various machinery types including farm machinery and industrial equipment.
