In this energetic role, you will diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of diesel-powered machinery, including trucks, construction equipment, and industrial vehicles. Responsibilities Perform thorough diagnostics using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and mechanical knowledge to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs. Execute routine inspections including tire service, shocks & struts replacement, alignment adjustments, brake repairs, and HVAC system servicing to ensure safety standards are met. Utilize heavy lifting techniques safely when handling large components or equipment during repairs or assembly tasks. Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on service technician equipment. Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle or piece of equipment serviced to track repairs, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment repair; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive repair principles including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and air brake systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools. Ability to read schematics accurately and perform electrical diagnostics on complex machinery. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions safely. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
