In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, air brakes, and HVAC systems using OEM specifications and schematics. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Replace or repair components including tires, brake systems, transmissions, electrical wiring, and hydraulic lines to restore equipment to optimal performance. Operate heavy equipment safely during maintenance procedures or testing phases while adhering to safety protocols. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues accurately. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring work is completed efficiently and thoroughly. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, HVAC systems, and suspension components. Ability to read schematics and OEM manuals for accurate diagnostics and repairs. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools. Experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts (including tire service), tractors (including farm machinery), and industrial machinery. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics software and electrical troubleshooting techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused approach to service delivery. Valid certifications related to diesel engine repair, brake repair (including air brakes), welding certifications preferred but not mandatory.
