The Opportunity You will take complete ownership of fleet readiness, serving as the technical anchor for a diverse inventory of commercial heavy machinery and logistical transport vehicles. This dual-focus role allows you to apply advanced master-level diagnostics to maximize equipment uptime, bridging the gap between heavy earthmoving assets and over-the-road diesel transport fleets. You will work within a highly organized operation that equips you with top-tier tools, safety gear, and structural support to keep projects moving forward efficiently. How You Will Make an Impact Perform advanced diagnostics, comprehensive overhauls, and routine field maintenance on commercial excavators, wheel loaders, and skid steer loaders. Troubleshoot, repair, and service Class A CDL diesel trucks (including end dumps, side dumps, and low boys), focusing on complex engine, drivetrain, and air brake configurations. Analyze complex hydraulic systems, electrical schematics, and electronic controls to isolate and rectify malfunctions rapidly. Execute structural welding, component rebuilding, and preventive mechanical maintenance tracking to minimize costly downtime. Respond promptly to urgent on-site field breakdowns, stabilizing operations under strict safety and regulatory guidelines. Maintain clear records of parts inventories, equipment service histories, and completed compliance paperwork. Required Qualifications & Experience Proven dual capability repairing and maintaining both heavy civil construction equipment and heavy-duty diesel trucks. Strong mastery of hydraulic systems, 12V/24V electrical networks, and electronic diagnostic software. Absolute readiness to tackle field repairs in dynamic on-site construction environments. Possession of a comprehensive set of personal professional mechanics tools. Ability to handle standard regional travel requirements to reach active field operation sites. Preferred Qualifications & Experience 5+ years of dedicated professional experience working as a heavy equipment or diesel fleet mechanic. Factory or manufacturer-specific training for major diesel engine and heavy machinery lines.
