Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Pigott Asphalt & Sitework is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks, trailers, asphalt paving equipment, and construction machinery to keep our operations running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. Troubleshoot diesel engines and equipment issues. Complete inspections and maintain service records. Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field when necessary. Ensure all repairs are completed safely and in compliance with company standards. Maintain an organized and clean shop environment. Assist with inventory and ordering of parts as needed. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel, fleet, or heavy equipment mechanic preferred but not required Experience working on construction equipment, dump trucks, trailers, and paving equipment preferred. Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. Valid driver's license required Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
