(DYS) - 4.3 Fort Myers, FL Job Details Full-time $25 - $32 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Referral program Qualifications Customer communication Machine repair Diesel mechanics Machine troubleshooting Driver's License Computer skills Vehicle systems Full Job Description Marine Diesel & Propulsion Technician Diversified Yacht Services (DYS) is seeking an experienced Marine Diesel & Propulsion Technician to join our team at Southwest Florida's premier yacht repair facility. In this role, you will perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, rebuilds, installations, and repowers on marine diesel engines, generators, propulsion systems, and related vessel equipment. This position requires independent troubleshooting, use of computer-based diagnostic tools, and adherence to ABYC standards and manufacturer specifications. Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500, commensurate with experience. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of marine repair experience. Factory training and marine certifications helpful. Experience with Volvo, Yanmar, Westerbeke, Cummins, Caterpillar, IPS drives, and similar systems helpful. Strong knowledge of marine diesel powerplants, running gear, thru-hulls, and vessel maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently. Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record. Must provide personal tools required for diagnostics and repairs. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, kneeling, bending, and working in confined marine spaces. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, maintain, repair, and rebuild marine diesel engines and generators. Perform running gear, propulsion system, and auxiliary system repairs. Utilize OEM technical manuals, schematics, and online resources. Conduct vessel system testing, inspections, and sea trials as needed. Maintain detailed service documentation and repair recommendations. Safely operate customer vessels for testing and transport purposes. Preferred Skills Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Professional attitude and appearance. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, management, parts personnel, and customers. Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
