Waste Pro is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic A (Heavy Duty Fleet Technician) to join our Fort Pierce, Florida maintenance team. Advanced diagnostic equipment What You'll Do As a Diesel Mechanic A, you'll perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Waste Pro's fleet of heavy-duty refuse vehicles, including: Mack; Peterbilt; Freightliner; Autocar; Heil; McNeilus; Diesel, CNG, LPG, and Hybrid-powered vehicles Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, fuel systems, and emissions components
Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections
Utilize OEM diagnostic software and onboard computer systems
Complete repairs using factory service manuals and manufacturer specifications
Perform welding and fabrication as needed
Mentor and assist other technicians
Complete repair orders and documentation accurately and on time
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow OSHA regulations and Waste Pro safety standards
Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to maximize fleet uptime Qualifications We're looking for candidates who have: 3-5+ years of heavy-duty diesel repair experience
Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Experience repairing Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrains, and emissions systems
Welding and fabrication experience (preferred)
Basic computer skills for diagnostics and repair documentation
A strong commitment to safety and OSHA compliance
