• Full-time Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing diesel engines, particularly in tractor-trailer applications. This role requires expertise in automotive diagnostics and the ability to work with various mechanical systems. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including air brake systems and HVAC units. Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues and determine necessary repairs. Utilize schematics to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems effectively. Maintain and repair tractor-trailer equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Operate hand tools and diagnostic equipment proficiently. Perform welding tasks as needed to repair or fabricate components. Operate forklifts safely while moving parts or vehicles within the shop. Document all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles. Skills Proficient in air brake systems and their maintenance. Strong automotive diagnostics skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Experience maintaining diesel engines, particularly Caterpillar models. Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics for various mechanical systems. Knowledge of tractor-trailer mechanics and operations. Skilled in using hand tools effectively for repairs and maintenance tasks. Understanding of HVAC systems related to diesel engines. Forklift operation experience is preferred for moving equipment within the shop. Welding skills are a plus for performing necessary repairs.
