Mobile Mechanic
  • Guardian Fleet Services Position Summary The Mobile Mechanic plays a critical role in keeping Guardian Fleet Services' vehicles safe, reliable, and road‑ready. This position provides on‑site and roadside maintenance and repair services for light

  • and heavy‑duty fleet units.
The Mobile Mechanic diagnoses issues in the field, performs repairs efficiently, and delivers exceptional service while representing the Guardian Fleet brand with professionalism and urgency. Key Responsibilities Perform mobile diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment. Respond to roadside service calls, breakdowns, and emergency repair needs with a safety‑first mindset. Conduct routine maintenance such as fluid checks, filter replacements, battery service, tire repairs, and minor mechanicaladjustments. Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues, wear, and safety concerns; document findings and recommended repairs. Operate service truck, tools, and equipment safely and responsibly. Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage. Communicate clearly with dispatch, supervisors, and drivers regarding repair status and estimated completion times. Ensure the mobile service truck is stocked, organized, and maintained in clean working condition. Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and DOT/compliance standards. Provide exceptional customer service while working independently in the field. Qualifications Experience as a mechanic or technician in fleet, diesel, automotive, or heavy‑equipment repair. Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required. Ability to operate service truck and mobile repair equipment. Strong communication and customer‑service skills. Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and respond to after‑hours or emergency calls as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50-75 lbs. Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and working in tight or elevated spaces. Ability to work outdoors and on roadside environments safely. Ability to climb in and out of service trucks and fleet vehicles.
