The Semi Truck Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks, tractors, trailers, and related equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to maintain equipment in compliance with DOT and company standards.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and inspections.

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, drivetrains, suspensions, steering systems, and brakes.

Inspect and repair electrical, hydraulic, air, and fuel systems.

Perform DOT inspections and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software.

Repair or replace tires, wheels, and suspension components as needed.

Maintain and repair trailers, including lighting systems, air brakes, and structural components.

Complete work orders and document repairs accurately.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures.

Respond to road calls and emergency repairs when required.

Communicate repair needs and equipment status with supervisors and fleet personnel.

Assist in maintaining parts inventory and shop equipment.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience repairing heavy-duty trucks or diesel equipment.

Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.

Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documents.

Experience using diagnostic software and tools.

Valid driver's license required.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Welding and fabrication experience a plus.
