What You'll Do As a Mechanic at Northside Tool Rental, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our fleet of construction equipment is always ready for our customers.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment, including skid steers, excavators, generators, lifts, and small tools. Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine systems to identify and solve issues. Ensuring all equipment meets Northside Tool Rental's high-quality standards and is rental-ready. Maintaining accurate records of work performed in our fleet management system. Assisting with equipment deliveries, pick-ups, and in-field repairs as needed. Supporting and mentoring team members in maintenance best practices. Contributing to a clean, organized, and safety-focused shop environment. What We're Looking For We're seeking a team player with the following skills and qualifications:
Experience:
1-3 years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining construction equipment or similar machinery.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines is a plus.
Tools:
Must own basic tools required for the job; specialized tools provided.
Education:
High school diploma or GED and trade school or certifications in mechanics a plus.
License:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and time management skills. Dependable and proactive problem-solver. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
