Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Service Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of industrial, farm, and construction machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. You will utilize your mechanical expertise to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and conduct routine maintenance on diesel engines and related systems. Duties Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC components on various heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and brake repairs to ensure equipment longevity and safety Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and electronic controls on industrial equipment Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs Conduct heavy lifting safely using appropriate lifting equipment; perform assembly or disassembly of machinery parts during repairs or upgrades Maintain detailed service records documenting diagnostics, repairs performed, parts used, and time spent on each job Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and maintenance recommendations clearly to clients Skills Proven dealership or heavy equipment service technician experience with strong mechanical knowledge Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting on diesel engines and industrial machinery Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and metalworking for custom repairs or modifications Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, or other farm/industrial machinery Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including air brake systems, alignments, shocks & struts replacement Competence in using power tools, hand tools, diagnostic scanners, and other service equipment safely and effectively Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate repair details clearly while maintaining professionalism Physical capability for heavy lifting tasks; comfortable working in various environmental conditions including outdoor settings This role is perfect for mechanically inclined professionals eager to apply their skills across diverse machinery types while advancing their expertise in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance.
