Job Description

PURPOSE This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance operations, of assigned shift, for the purpose of maximizing vehicle uptime, controlling costs, improving shop efficiency, and workforce retention.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Deliver exceptional customer service through effective communication, accurate diagnosis, and addressing all driver team member concerns. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Implement and maintain maintenance processes as per company policy. Improve vehicle uptime through efficient repair practices. Effectively supervise assigned shift maintenance operations in accordance with financial goals. Develop the technical skills of maintenance personnel on assigned shift. Monitor parts and tire inventory usage by assigned shift. Capable of performing most major repairs. Repair equipment in the most effective manner with a focus on quality and cost control. Perform effective diagnostic routines that identifies root cause and determine best repair method. Reduce workforce turnover by improving employee relations. Basic Hand Tools Required (Service Manager can provide list) Technician must have Required list within 30 days of employment Qualifications and Education Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years of experience in maintenance management and repair. Five years of experience in Class 8 maintenance and repair preferred Proficient in computer based maintenance systems. Vendor sponsored training in major vehicle components. Knowledge of DOT standards of repairs and maintenance. Knowledge of OSHA regulations regarding terminal facility. Preferred Skills Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience. Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results. Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety.
