Full Job Description General Requirements:
1+ years of practical experience with diesel truck and tractor-trailer maintenance High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in diesel vehicle repair preferred Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (diesel engines, transmissions, differentials) Experienced using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools) Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred The ability to solve problems Excellent customer service skills and communication skills The ability to work well as part of a team Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions Basic computer skills Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job Complete the DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express employment application, submit to a background screening (to include criminal checks, past employment, and education), and pass a drug screening. Experience:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
