We are seeking a highly experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our growing maintenance team. This is not an entry-level position . We are looking for a skilled professional who can step in, work independently, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and safely perform repairs in a fast-paced shop environment. This position requires someone who can work independently while also supporting the shop team to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brake systems, suspension, steering, and HVAC systems. Perform preventive maintenance services and DOT inspections. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic software. Read and interpret electrical schematics and service manuals. Repair and maintain heavy-duty trucks, trailers, tractors, and construction equipment. Perform welding and light to moderate metal fabrication as needed to repair or modify trucks, trailers, and equipment. Complete work orders accurately and maintain service documentation. Order parts and materials necessary to complete repairs. Assist and mentor mechanic helpers as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Respond to emergency repairs when necessary. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience working on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, or construction equipment. Technical school certification in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Repair, Automotive Technology, or a related field is highly desired but not required. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brakes, suspension, and drivetrain components. Experience using diagnostic software such as Cummins INSITE, Caterpillar ET, Bendix ACom, and WABCO Toolbox , or similar diagnostic programs. Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical service manuals. Welding and metal fabrication experience (MIG, Stick, and oxy-acetylene cutting/heating) is a plus. Valid driver's license required. CDL Class A or B is preferred but not required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while working effectively as part of a team. Strong communication and organizational skills. Must provide your own basic mechanic hand tools. Schedule Full-Time Monday-Saturday 8-12 hour shifts Overtime available On-call as needed Physical Requirements Frequently lift up to 70 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in indoor and outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
