Holiday Motor Coach operates 100+ vehicles across the western United States. Our maintenance team is responsible for ensuring every motorcoach is safe, reliable, and ready to transport passengers. We are looking for an experienced diesel mechanic who is eager to learn, take initiative, and grow their career in the diesel and motorcoach industry.Position Description:
This role is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining Holiday Motor Coach's fleet of motorcoaches and support vehicles. This position works closely with drivers and regional technicians to ensure repairs are completed efficiently while maintaining safety standards. This position reports directly to the division's Lead Technician and Maintenance Director. Success in this role requires communication, adaptability, and a willingness to respond to changes. Because transportation is a 24/7 industry, schedules and priorities can change quickly, making teamwork and flexibility essential. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance services on motorcoaches. Complete annual DOT inspections and required safety inspections. Accurately complete work orders and maintenance documentation. Maintain compliance with all FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards. Communicate repair progress and vehicle status with the Lead Technician. Assist with mobile roadside repairs and emergency mechanical service calls. Assist other locations when operational needs require it. Qualifications Valid driver's license required. Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement within one year of hire (company-paid training). Willingness to obtain the following certifications within one year of hire (company-paid training): EPA Section 609 Air Conditioning Certification FMCSA Brake Inspector Certification (49 CFR §396.25) FMCSA Annual Vehicle Inspector Certification (49 CFR §396.19) California Heavy-Duty Inspection & Maintenance (HD I/M) Emissions Certification, when applicable Minimum two (2) years of diesel or automotive repair experience, or completion of an accredited diesel or automotive technical program. Previous experience with Prevost, MCI, Temsa, or comparable heavy-duty coaches preferred.- Ability to navigate parts catalogs and identify required components.
Responsibilities may include:
Answering phone calls from drivers experiencing mechanical concerns. Assisting drivers with troubleshooting to determine whether repairs can be safely completed on roadside or if additional service is required. Coordinating with dispatch and outside vendors when necessary. Helping minimize service interruptions while maintaining passenger safety. Monday- Friday schedule, Or as needed
