Job Description

We are a well-established, locally operated bridge construction contractor with a strong reputation for quality and reliability. Our team is growing, and we're looking for a skilled Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic to join our shop based in Blackfoot, Idaho and keep our fleet of heavy construction equipment running smoothly and safely. Position Overview As a Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic, you'll be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a variety of heavy construction equipment including excavators, cranes, loaders, dozers, and other diesel-powered machinery critical to our bridge construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel engines and hydraulic systems Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Maintain service records and ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely Work independently in our local shop, with occasional field service as needed Assist with equipment inspections and safety compliance Communicate effectively with supervisors and equipment operators
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience as a heavy diesel mechanic (bridge or heavy civil construction experience a plus) Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to read technical manuals and schematics Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Valid driver's license required; must have reliable ride to work each day CDL preferred but not required Strong work ethic and attention to detail Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
