Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of our fleet, including trucks, industrial machinery, and farm equipment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other mechanical components using schematics and specialized tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and industrial machinery. Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed to meet operational requirements using welding, cutting, and hand tools. Service vehicle systems including brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignments, and HVAC systems to ensure safety compliance. Assist with tire service, wheel alignments, and suspension repairs to maximize vehicle longevity and performance. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed for compliance and tracking purposes. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or similar role within a dealership or industrial environment. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle diagnostics. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting and repairs. Proficiency with power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other mechanical repair instruments. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer service-oriented mindset. Valid certification in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred; relevant licenses or certifications are a plus.
