In this pivotal role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. Your expertise will drive efficiency across our fleet and machinery, while mentoring junior technicians and fostering a culture of excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional passionate about heavy equipment, automotive systems, and innovative repair solutions to lead by example in a fast-paced environment. Duties Lead and coordinate complex repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and other mechanical components across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct detailed diagnostics using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently. Oversee the maintenance schedule for fleet vehicles including tractor-trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery. Supervise and assist technicians with fabrication tasks such as welding, assembly, and custom modifications to meet operational needs. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards including air brake systems, wheel alignments, shocks & struts, tire service, and HVAC systems. Manage inventory of parts and tools necessary for equipment repair and maintenance activities. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair status clearly to clients or internal stakeholders while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Qualifications Proven dealership or heavy equipment repair experience with a strong background in diesel mechanics. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair including transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC, and vehicle maintenance. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques using power tools and welding equipment. Ability to read schematics accurately for diagnostics and repairs on complex machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and industrial equipment. Familiarity with automotive electrical system repair and troubleshooting vehicle systems for truck drivers or fleet operators. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills in heavy truck repair or heavy equipment mechanics. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely during maintenance tasks. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and team collaboration.
